Creative Direction, Concept Development, Symbolic System, Visual Identity, Team Leadership, Trailer Concept & Video Edit by Vasiliki Katsoura
For this project, I led the entire creative direction and visual world-building of Amanati's album OMEN.
My role included developing the core concept, designing the symbolic system, shaping the aesthetic language, coordinating the full creative team, and constructing the cinematic narrative behind the album and its teaser trailer.
This project was built as a multi-layered creative ecosystem, spanning album artwork, physical editions, merchandise, photography, choreography, and ritualistic cinematic storytelling.
OMEN | Full Creative Direction & Visual Universe
Creative Direction & Team Leadership
I directed a large, multidisciplinary team to bring the vision of OMEN to life.
This included:
Dancers & Movement Performers
Photographer
Visual Artists
Production Crews & Technical Teams
My responsibilities covered full concept design, storytelling, aesthetic direction, visual identity, scene planning, mood building, and the creative supervision of every department to ensure a unified artistic universe.
At the foundation of OMEN lies a symbolic cosmology I developed to guide the narrative and visual identity:
The 8 Circles of Life, eight stages of transformation, each with its own meaning and sigil.
Symbolic System | The 8 Circles of Life
1 Birth | emergence, innocence
Symbol: Triangle with Spiral
2. Initiation | entering the mystery
Symbol: Labrys
3. Desire | long, beauty, emotional chaos
Symbol: Flame
4. Conflict | struggle, duality
Symbol: Broken Spear
5. Death | endings, sacrifice
Symbol: Death Mouth
6. Void | dissolution, stillness
Symbol: Arrows Around Space
7. Rebirth | awakening
Symbol: Phoenix Flame
8. Ascension | transcendence, spirit
Symbol: Triangle Pointing Upwards
These symbols form the conceptual backbone of the entire album universe and appear throughout the visual language, choreography, and physical design elements.
Album Narrative
The narrative of OMEN unfolds as a ritual journey between two dimensions:
a symbolic underworld of metamorphosis, and the human reality of a lone girl on a night beach.
The story begins in an abandoned stone industrial space, where a single butterfly awakens a diamond-covered, faceless figure. The Omen.
This being is not human but a symbol: a catalyst for transformation.
From there, the narrative moves through ritual spaces:
shibari bound cocoons, industrial chambers that feel like wombs, bodies emerging from membranes, mud, water, and the struggle toward rebirth.
Each stage reflects one of the 8 Circles of Life.
The climax takes place on a night beach, in a circle of fire.
Marked dancers, trance-like movement, and a chosen girl who receives a whisper from The Omen.
The story cuts sharply between the ritual world and the real world, leaving the viewer unsure whether the ceremony happened physically or within her mind.
In the final moment, the Death’s-Head Hawkmoth lands on her mouth, the same omen that awakened the figure at the beginning, sealing the connection between worlds.
OMEN is designed as a liminal space,
a mythic act of transformation where symbolism, choreography, landscape, sound, and cinematic vision merge into one unified experience.
